Located in a historical building in the heart of Beyoğlu, is GHETTO, a music lounge with architecture in striking contrast with its name. Founded in February 2007, Ghetto has created its own niche in Istanbul in a remarkably short time, thanks to a unique musical vision and the contributions of an impressive array of local and international artists. GHETTO is now a leading venue in the Istanbul live-music scene.
In its second year, GHETTO has built a platform much richer than simply a “concert venue” – to create a environment which encompasses different forms of roots and progressive music, after-hour parties, delicious food and striking architecture. It has become an entertainment and cultural space where people of diverse backgrounds and life styles can meet.
Just like the age-old Mario Cantoni building, the former bakery where GHETTO now lives, GHETTO’s musical vision combines the traditional and the experimental – promoting new ideas and concepts founded on the experience of the past.
